Urhobo monarch partner UEIG on development
The Ovie of Agbarha-Otor Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, King Richard Oghenevwogaga Ebele, (JP), Okorefe 1, has reiterated his commitment to partner with Urhobo Economic and Investment Group on the growth and development of Urhobo Nation.
Okorefe I, stated this on Monday when the group paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Agbarha-Otor, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The King applauded UEIG for contributing their quota on development issues as it affects the growth and development of Urhoboland.
While urging the group to remain steadfast, dedicated and committed to the vision of the body, he called on Urhobo sons and daughters to render support to the group, as the group is in the right track.
He called on the body to continue with it’s annual Urhobo Economic and Investment Summit, and other laudauble programmes that will re-orientate youths on the importance of learning a skill, the ills of get-rich quick syndrome, youth restiveness, and other social vices that will short change their lives.
“Also, the issue of fulani herdsmen that is oppressing Urhobo Farmers should not be left out in the scheme of things, because it is only the living that can do business and facilitate development. “Let me also appreciate the Urhobo Economic and Investment Group for bringing the Urhobo Innovation Hub to Agbarha-Otor Kingdom and i also thank the President of the Michael and Cecilia Ibru Univetsity, Dr Mrs. Cecilia Ibru for the assistance.
“I assure you that i will give the hub the necessary support towards achieving it’s set goals.” he said.
Earlier, Convener of the group, Kingsley Ubiebi, said the group embarked on the working visit to familiarize with His Royal Majesty, King Richard Oghenevwogaga Ebele on the activities of the group, success achieved, challenges and the kicking off of the Urhobo Innovation Hub at the Michael and Cecilia Ibru University, Agbarha-Otor, Ughelli North LGA.
He also called on the Ovie of Agbarha-Otor Kingdom to key into the 3rd edition of the Urhobo Economic and Investment Summit, (Ekpobaro 2020), which he obliged and also accepted to be one of the Patrons of the group.
